Text Message (SMS)
Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: August 26, 2026
These Terms govern the text messaging programs operated by LTD-III Fire CORP (“Matador Fire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By providing your mobile phone number and agreeing to receive text messages from Matador Fire, you agree to these Terms.
Matador Fire operates two separate text messaging programs. Sections 1 through 12 cover service and consultation messages. Sections 13 through 20 cover wildfire alert messages sent to Wildfire Intelligence briefing subscribers. Enrolling in one program does not enroll you in the other, and each has its own opt-in and its own opt-out.
1. Program Description
Matador Fire operates a text messaging program to communicate with clients and prospective clients about wildfire defense services. Messages include appointment and consultation reminders, scheduling confirmations and changes, service updates, and replies to questions you have asked us. We do not send unsolicited promotional text messages through this program.
2. How to Opt In
You may enroll in Matador Fire text messages in any of the following ways:
- Web form. Check the text message consent box when you submit a contact form, assessment request, or consultation request on a Matador Fire website.
- By text. Send a text message to a Matador Fire number.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any Matador Fire product or service. You must be the authorized user or subscriber of the mobile number you provide.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us. For appointment and consultation reminders, you will generally receive one (1) to two (2) messages per scheduled appointment.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Matador Fire does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving them according to your plan. Contact your carrier for details about your plan.
5. How to Opt Out
You may stop receiving text messages from Matador Fire at any time. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. We also honor QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, OPT OUT, and REVOKE, as well as any plain-language request to stop receiving messages.
You may also opt out by emailing info@matadorfire.com or calling 310.426.8088.
After you opt out, you will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will receive no further text messages from that program unless you opt in again. Opting out of text messages does not withdraw any other agreement you have with Matador Fire, and we may still contact you by phone, email, or mail as permitted by law.
6. Help
Reply HELP to any message from us for assistance. You may also email info@matadorfire.com or call 310.426.8088.
7. Supported Carriers and Delivery
Our text messaging program is supported by major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed, and Matador Fire is not responsible for messages that are delayed, undelivered, or not received due to carrier issues, device settings, network conditions, or an incorrect or changed mobile number. Do not rely on text messages for emergency communications.
8. Changes to Your Mobile Number
If your mobile number changes or you no longer use the number you provided, notify Matador Fire promptly at info@matadorfire.com so that we do not send messages intended for you to another person.
9. Privacy
Your mobile information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for any purpose. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
11. Changes to These Terms
Matador Fire may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued participation in the text messaging program after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Wildfire Alert Messages
Sections 13 through 20 apply only to the wildfire alert program for Wildfire Intelligence briefing subscribers. Sections 4 (Cost), 7 (Supported Carriers and Delivery), 10 (Governing Law), 11 (Changes to These Terms) and 12 (Contact Us) apply to both programs.
13. Wildfire Alert Program Description
Matador Fire operates a text messaging program that notifies Wildfire Intelligence subscribers of two kinds of event affecting the property address they registered:
- Evacuation notices. Evacuation ORDERS and evacuation WARNINGS reported for the area containing your registered address.
- Red Flag Warnings. Fire-weather warnings issued by the National Weather Service for the area containing your registered address.
This program’s primary intention is to notify you of events affecting your registered property, not to advertise Matador Fire products or services.
14. Not a Substitute for Official Emergency Information
Read this section carefully. It describes the most important limitation of this program.
Matador Fire is not a public safety agency and does not issue evacuation orders, warnings, or any other emergency directive. Our alerts are an unofficial convenience that repeats, in summary form, information published by government sources. They are a supplement to official emergency communications and are never a substitute for them.
- Always follow official instructions. If our message and an instruction from fire officials, law enforcement, or emergency management conflict, follow the official instruction. Every alert we send tells you to confirm with local officials before acting.
- Do not rely on this program to keep you safe. Do not use it as your only source of evacuation or fire-weather information, and do not delay any protective action while waiting for a message from us. Sign up for your county’s official emergency alert system and monitor official channels.
- Delivery is not guaranteed. Messages may be delayed, undelivered, incomplete, or not received for reasons including carrier problems, network conditions, device settings, service outages, an incorrect or changed mobile number, or interruptions in the government data sources we rely on. A fire-weather or evacuation event may occur without our sending any message at all.
- Source data may be wrong, delayed, or incomplete. We report what public sources publish. Those sources can be late, can contain errors, and can change without notice. Our alerts describe conditions we believe have been reported, not conditions we have independently verified.
- Evacuation coverage is limited to California. Evacuation notices are derived from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) statewide active evacuation zone layer. If your registered address is outside California, this program will not send you evacuation notices at all, regardless of any evacuation affecting your area. Red Flag Warning alerts are drawn from the National Weather Service and are not limited to California.
- Alerts are tied to your registered address, not to your phone’s current location. We do not track your device location. If you are somewhere other than your registered property, our messages do not describe where you are.
15. How to Opt In to Wildfire Alerts
Enrollment requires two steps, and you are not enrolled until you complete both:
- Request. Provide your mobile number and check the wildfire alert consent box on a Matador Fire signup or briefing page.
- Confirm. We send you a one-time confirmation text naming your registered street. Reply YES to that message. If you do not reply YES, you receive no alerts.
You must be the authorized user or subscriber of the mobile number you provide.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any Matador Fire product or service, and the Wildfire Intelligence briefing itself is free and does not require you to provide a mobile number.
16. Wildfire Alert Message Frequency
Message frequency varies with weather and fire conditions and is not predictable. In calm periods you may receive no messages for weeks or months. During active fire weather you may receive several messages in a short span, including multiple messages in a single day, as conditions change or as an evacuation notice is issued, expanded, or lifted.
You will also receive one confirmation message when you enroll and one confirmation message when you opt out.
17. How to Opt Out of Wildfire Alerts
You may stop receiving wildfire alert text messages at any time. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. We also honor QUIT, END, CANCEL, and UNSUBSCRIBE, as well as any plain-language request to stop receiving messages.
You may also opt out by emailing info@matadorfire.com or calling 310.426.8088.
After you opt out, you will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and no further wildfire alert messages unless you opt in again. To resume, reply START or YES, or enroll again on our website.
Opting out of text messages does not unsubscribe you from the Wildfire Intelligence email briefing, which is managed separately through the unsubscribe link in any briefing email. Opting out does not withdraw any other agreement you have with Matador Fire, and we may still contact you by phone, email, or mail as permitted by law.
18. Help with Wildfire Alerts
Reply HELP or INFO to any message from us for assistance. You may also email info@matadorfire.com or call 310.426.8088.
19. Changes to Your Mobile Number or Property Address
If your mobile number changes, or you no longer use the number you provided, notify Matador Fire promptly at info@matadorfire.com so that we do not send messages intended for you to another person.
If your property address changes, update it through your briefing preferences or by emailing info@matadorfire.com. Until you do, alerts will continue to describe your previously registered address.
20. Wildfire Alert Privacy
Your mobile information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and with Section 9 above.
We retain a record of your consent, including the wording you agreed to and the date and time of your enrollment, as required for compliance purposes.
